Description

Is antacid, antiseptic, astringent, diuretic and emmenagogue. Useful in loss of appetite, painful dyspepsia, cough, asthma and diarrhoea. Also useful in amenorrhoea, dysmenorrhoea, menorrhoea, puerperal convulsions and to promote uterine pains during labour.

As an antiseptic, it destroys low vegetable organisms, hence given in fetid stools of diarrhoea in children.

Externally borax is applied with honey in aphthae or thrush and soreness of mouth or throat to parasitic stomatitis and to cracked tongue. In hoarseness of the throat it is applied with benefit also in ulceration of mouth, fissures or cracks in the tongue in adults, which occur in the advanced stages of consumption, fever, etc.

Recommended Dosage: 500 mg biryan (roasted) powder.

Contraindication: This mineral has no known warnings or contraindications.
