Description

The oil is useful in spastic discomfort of the upper gastrointestinal tract and bile ducts, irritable colon, catarrhs of the respiratory tract and inflammation of the oral mucosa. It plays a role in the treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohns disease. It is also useful in myalgia and neuralgia when applied externally. It is useful in treating pain and inflammation of muscles and joints due to its counter irritant actions.

Contains 29 to 48% menthol which acts as a sedative on the stomach and strengthens the bowels. Also used in medicine to relieve the pain of rheumatism, neuralgia, lumbago, throat affections and toothache.

Recommended Dosage: 6 to 12 drops.

Contraindication: The essential oil has no known warnings or contraindications. Preparations containing peppermint oil should not be used on the face, particularly the nose, of infants and small children. Excessive use of the oil and Menthol may cause allergic reaction or irritate the stomach lining.
